![]() On Friday, August 5th my state experienced torrential downpours and floods. How are people supposed to drive around in vehicles that could have faulty windshield wipers, possibly causing accidents and even death?. I just want to be reimbursed for the recall that they still do not have a fix for. So in case it were to rain I wouldn't get into a horrible car accident like we almost did on Friday. I'm not working due to health issues and I go to many doctors appointments so I have to have a working vehicle with working windshield wipers. But the dealership couldn't have fixed it anyway because there's no fix for it in place. They have told us many different stories on how we are supposed to take care of this recall. That's when the agent told us we could not be reimbursed because it wasn't done at the dealership. ![]() After the part was fixed on Saturday August 20th, we called back like the agent said to get the reimbursement form. My husband and his father who is a certified mechanic fixed the problem with a part from o'reilly's. I called the number on the recall sheet and gm told us that my husband's dad could fix the problem and we could be in reimbursed because he was a certified mechanic. We had to wait the storm out, and then made it home later on that night. The windshield wiper ball joint failed almost causing us to get into an accident on the interstate. We were driving 2 hours away in des moines, iowa on Friday August 19th when a torrential rain came down. We continued to check in and there was still no fix. There was no parts available at the time for them to repair, the letter stated just wait. We received a letter in the mail approximately April of 2022 stating there was a recall on the ball joints of the wipers.
